1st Annual South Dakota Pheasant Hunt:

Prairie Sky Ranch (www.prairieskyranch.com) invites you to come and experience some of the finest pheasant hunting South Dakota has to offer.

The ranch is located 1 ½ hours south of Fargo, ND in the small town of Veblen, SD. It is the perfect destination for those who wish to pursue all sorts of game. The correct mixture of agricultural land and vast flats of native grasses hold some of the strongest populations of sharp-tail grouse, pheasants and waterfowl in the state. The upland enthusiast can spend the day pacing the countryside behind well trained flushing and pointing dogs. After a great day a field it is always nice to enjoy an evening cocktail by the fireplace in the main lodge. This destination is filled with adventure and hosted by two of the best in the outdoor industry. This is a truly an enjoyable adventure!

The upland bird limits at the ranch are a bit more liberal than other destinations in the state. They run all of their upland ground under South Dakota Preserve laws. This allows them to open their season earlier than other destinations in the state, so their waterfowl clients can have the afternoons to chase roosters. Each upland hunter is allowed 5 birds per day. Additional birds taken are $25.00 per.

The hunting day starts with a hearty breakfast at 8:00am in the lodge. You will meet your guide soon after and depart for the morning hunt. Morning hunts are finished at 11:00am. This will give you enough time to get all your pictures taken and back to your cabin to get cleaned up for lunch that will be served around 12:30pm. After lunch you are more than welcome to return to your cabin for an afternoon nap or hang around the lodge and watch T.V. or check your emails. You will depart for your afternoon hunt around 2:00pm. Evening hunts are finished at 5:00pm. This will give you enough time to get cleaned up and head to the lodge for a cocktail before dinner at 7:00pm. The evenings at the lodge are filled with laughter and story telling!

Your stay includes all lodging, meals, daily maid service, and three days of hunting, including guides and dogs. Additional charges include your license (approx. $100.00) and any additional birds that you choose to take while hunting.
